We are a parent led non profit established to support the building of affordable owner occupied housing for people with disabilities that need extra care and supervision, with their support families, friends and caregivers.
Our vision is to support the building of a community in the SW Snohomish County area, that will be designed after the dementia villages being built in Europe and other places around the world, by the world renown consulting firm: Dementia Village Associates (DVA). This unique and novel approach will allow our family, friends and caregivers to live together in a community that is affordable and forever.

Next Wave Housing (NWH) and DVA Dementia Village® Associates (DVA) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to jointly research the possibility to develop a real estate and care program for the realization of an Independent Living Village project for people with disabilities, their support family and friends near SW Snohomish County-WA, USA. Based on the extensive Dutch and international knowledge and experience of DVA in practicing and conducting vision, innovative business concepts, sound business cases, effective implementation and achieving integral care and services in the care sector. The Dementia Village concept, as DVA stood at the basis of, will support the Quality of Live of the residents. DVA will support NWH from the pre-project phase (a Bidbook) up to and including consultancy and implementing phases according to the Roadmap© as DVA developed to support organizations like NWH.

Designed as Brinks and farmsteads. As much as possible integration with the neighborhood. The planned development in 'Wijngaert' consists of regular housing and residential clusters for the benefit of 96 clients with disabilities or mental limitations, from the Cello care-organization. The layout of the new residential area is aimed at integration, the cohabitation of the residents with other residents in the same neighborhood. By including the greenish triangular spaces in the urban plan, existing features of the core of the small village Haaren are connected. These village greens are interconnected by the street pattern. In addition to incorporating various forms of farmsteads, these village greens will largely provide the village character, atmosphere, and identity of the new residential area with housing, daycare, activities, physiotherapy, offices, a café and swimming pool.

We are approaching the 3 year mark for our non profit. YIPPEE!!
After applying to multiple funders for grants it is apparent that the best way to receive such grants is by having a large organization. And at this point we don't.
So we have decided to go ahead and invite everybody to register to live in this community. The more we have the better chances we will have to get a grant. So please, if you like this idea and look to the future of what this could mean, please register. One per apartment.
Now is the time to get on board, even if you do not think it will come to fruition. What do you have to lose? Simple questions. Personal info is kept private.
When we are ready to enlist residents this will be the list we go by.
