 I have been around the disabled community for the past 28 years, due to my daughter having Intellectually Disability from birth. I have participated with my daughter in her Special Ed school, Special Olympics and many other social events. I have worked in the sign trade for about 20 years. From being a plastic manufacturer, neon bending to a purchasing agent. It was a great career. In 2006 I had to change jobs and retrain. So with my daughters disability I came across a training to be a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. I worked over 12 years in the Lake Stevens School district, with a lot of the kids that were disabled and using Assistive Technology to help with their speech difficulties. I am presently retired and working on this project as my next challenge in life to help my daughter succeed in her life. I have no experience in developing a non profit or building a complex. Sometimes not having that background allows you to circumvent challenges, but i do have the will and the time.

I am a mom to 2 boys Trevor 27 and Joshua 24, both of them have disabilities. Trevor being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome around age 7 and Joshua having been diagnosed with PDD- NOS, Sensory Processing Disorder, now he's considered on the Autism Spectrum.  I have volunteered in Elementary schools while both my boys were attending.  I worked with a variety of kids, helping them to read, and going on field trips. I was a Pharmacy Technician for 20 years with Safeway.  Now I work for an Optometrist as an Eye Care Technician. I enjoy helping people.  I'm looking forward to helping develop a future residence for my son, Joshua.

I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and have two clinical licenses in California (Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling). I have been the Associated Director of Motiva Associates (www.motivaassociates.com) since 2010. We are a behavioral health organization specializing in serving children with autism and other developmental disabilities, incorporated for over 20 years and serving two counties in Southern California with over 100 staff members.
